A collaborative textile project, stitched together by Westhampton Beach Elementary School fifth grade art students, is now on display in the Parrish Art Museum’s 2021 Student Exhibition.

“I couldn’t be prouder of these students,” said art teacher Sarah Drake.

For the project, students learned how to knit swatches that were sewn together to form a large textile. The knitting lesson was part of a unit that explored the works of both local and international textile artists.

The project will be on display at the museum, located at 279 Montauk Highway, Water Mill, through April 18. Exhibit hours are Friday through Monday, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 1-2:30 p.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.
