This school year, Westhampton Beach Elementary School’s STEM lab has been filled with plenty of learning experiences in science, technology, engineering and math.

Most recently, students learned about shadows and designed shadow puppets. They also scripted and designed scenery for performances that featured their one-of-a-kind creations.

In another project, students learned how to create a series circuit in order to design and light up a snow village. They spliced old Christmas light wires and built a circuit with a switch to light up the buildings that they had constructed out of cardstock. The villages were complete with houses, schools, libraries and churches.
