Third graders at Westhampton Beach Elementary School researched a variety of endangered species as part of a recent science lesson. Each student chose an animal on the endangered species list — ranging from sea turtles and bald eagles to whooping cranes — and created a report that they presented to their peers. They were encouraged to compliment each other by writing accolades on sticky notes that they affixed to each presenter’s report.
