Twenty-four members of Westhampton Beach’s Class of 2022 have earned a prestigious AP Capstone diploma, an accomplishment that took two years of hard work, drive and determination.

To earn the designation, the students participated in their school’s AP Capstone program, in which they were required to earn a score of 3 or higher in two courses, AP Seminar and AP Research. Additionally, they were required to score similarly on four AP exams.

The Westhampton Beach School District began offering the AP Capstone program in 2016. At the time, the district was just one of seven schools to adopt the advanced study program. Through the courses, students perform college-level work, delve deep into a research project and write a research paper, all while earning college credit.

The Westhampton Beach School District extends its congratulations to the following students: Amanda Albert, Gavin Arcuri, Randy Cabrera, Cole Cammarata, Alex Castro Cruz, James Daniels, Gavin Ehlers, Conor Farnan, Valerie Finke, Michael Griffin, Rose Hayes, Andre Insalaco, Ali Jedlicka, Matthew Kern, Luca Kubanovich, Joseph Litjens, Tessa McCombe, Aidan McKeon, Selena Pereyra, Josephine Perl, Madison Quinn, Lauren Schurek, Daniel Stark and Jaxson Worthington.
