Westhampton Beach students participating in the district’s summer recreation and academy program were afforded the opportunity to learn new skills from community volunteers.
During the four-week program, held at Westhampton Beach High School, students honed their baseball skills with the help of Bill Dawson of East End Little League. Dawson ran clinics with the younger students and gave pointers to older students as they played Wiffle ball and practiced running bases.
Program participants were also introduced to tennis by Kerriann Jannotte of Advantage All/Net Generation Tennis, who coached students on form and technique.
Students also worked on their swimming skills through the Swordfish Swim Academy, receiving instruction each morning.
