The district congratulates senior Matilda Buchen and freshman Ava Borruso, who were named to Newsday’s Top 30 Long Island Tennis Players list. Newsday recognized Buchen as “half of the doubles team that won the state and county championships and was tabbed one of Newsday’s Suffolk Players of the Year. In a quest to defend those titles, she is likely to pair with the offensive-minded Barruso. Both are strong singles players who make the Hurricanes a contender for the team title.”
