Westhampton Beach High School students earn national honors

Eleven Westhampton Beach High School students have earned national recognition through the College Board National Recognition Program, which colleges use to identify academically competitive, underrepresented students.

Christopher Volkman earned the National Indigenous Recognition Award; Sandra Clarke was recognized with the National African American Recognition Award; Christian Bruschi and David Salazar earned the First Generation Hispanic Recognition Award; Anna Blanco, Matthew Hernandez, Brooke Huwer and Lauren Kelly were recognized with the National Hispanic Recognition Award; and Leila Batumoglu, Colin Jiang and Angela Tran earned the First Generation National Recognition Award.

To earn the recognitions, the students were required to hold a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, excel on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 exams, or earn a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP exams.

The Westhampton Beach School District extends its congratulations to these students for their hard work and dedication to academics.
