Westhampton Beach High School has been named a School of Distinction for the 2023-2024 school year by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.

To earn this recognition, an impressive 100% of the school’s varsity teams were required to hold a GPA above 90%. Westhampton Beach is among 114 schools to receive this noteworthy designation.

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates its varsity teams on an outstanding job.

Volleyball Players Make the Grade

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates girls volleyball player Katie Burke, a junior, for being named to Newsday’s Top 50 Long Island Girls Volleyball Players list and Cameron Giordano and Aaron Kiefer, both seniors, for being recognized in Newsday’s Top 50 Long Island Boys Volleyball Players list. Burke earned her place on the list for tallying 110 kills, 180 digs and 14 aces last season. Giordano was recognized as a “highly talented setter and well-rounded player,” while it was noted that Kiefer totaled 205 digs and 18 aces and posted a 2.3 serve receive rating to help Westhampton reach the Division II state championship match last season.

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates Cross-Country runners Fina DiBiaso and Lily Strebel for being named to Newsday’s Top 25 Long Island Cross Country runners list.  thumbnail260875

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates Cross-Country runners Fina DiBiaso and Lily Strebel for being named to Newsday’s Top 25 Long Island Cross Country runners list. DiBiaso, a freshman, was named to the list for finishing with a time of 20:03.6 at the public school state championship meet and finishing with a time of 20:20.3 at the Federation meet as an eighth grader. Strebel, a senior, was recognized for finishing seventh with a time of 19:18.4 in Class B finals in last season. At the Federation championships, she ran a 19:18.1 to place 17th.

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates senior Brody Schaffer, who was named to Newsday’s Top 100 Long Island Football Players list. Schaffer earned the recognition for being one of the top kickers on Long Island. He was also named to Newsday’s All-Island Second Team two seasons ago.
