Westhampton Beach Elementary School
Grade Level Programs
We are excited to announce the integration of the Too Good for Violence program into our K-4 curriculum as an additional support to help students navigate social-emotional learning (SEL) and develop essential life skills. This research-based program aligns with the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) Wheel, reinforcing the five core competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
Trainers from the HUGS Organization, located in Westhampton Beach, will deliver engaging 30-minute weekly lessons for 10 weeks in your child's classroom. These interactive sessions are designed to enhance students' ability to express their emotions, manage conflicts, build healthy relationships, and develop positive decision-making strategies.
Below, you will find grade-specific resources outlining the topics covered in each session. This initiative serves as an additional layer of support to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students. We look forward to partnering with families to reinforce these essential skills at home and in the community.
