Anita S. Appel Scholarship: The awards will be given to the two male and two female students who are East Quogue Elementary School graduates with the highest GPA. (no application necessary- recipients selected from entire senior class)

 

Art Dawg – Lise Bense Frielinghaus Memorial Scholarship: $500 awarded to aspiring artists. Selection will be based on merit, compassion, and need. Application

 

Barbara J. Mitchell Community Service Scholarship: $500 awarded to a graduating Westhampton Beach High School senior. In 500 words or less, discuss your contribution to your High School and local community; the activities you have engaged in and how they have been meaningful to you; and your philosophy on community service. Betty Desch Scholarship For Leadership Through Civic Engagement: $2000 awarded to a civically engaged student who participated in extracurricular activities that demonstrate their leadership ability. Two letters of recommendation required. Recipient should appear to receive award at League’s annual meeting. Application

 

Bill Mees Service Award: $500 award given in memory of Bill Mees, to a graduating senior in the Westhampton Beach School District who has consistently demonstrated determination and perseverance in the classroom. This student must have plans on file to attend either a college or vocational school after graduation. (no application necessary- recipients selected from entire senior class)

 

Deborah McLin Mees Humanitarian Award: $500 award given in memory of one of our teachers, Deborah McLin Mees, to a graduating senior who has consistently demonstrated to the highest degree kindness and compassion for his/her fellow students, humility, teamwork, and a proper respect for his/her teachers. This student must have plans on file to attend a college or vocational school upon graduation. (no application necessary- recipients selected from entire senior class)

 

Doreen Kandell Memorial French & Spanish Award: Two $500 awards (one for French, one for Spanish) to a senior who is currently enrolled in Level IV or V French or Spanish. Seniors must have a plan on file in the Counseling Center to major in language in college. WHBHS common scholarship application.

 

East End Hospice Nursing Scholarship: $1000 awarded to a WHBHS graduating senior who has been accepted into a four-year baccalaureate program with a major in nursing at an accredited college or university. The East End Hospice Nursing Scholarship was created to help defray the cost of higher education for a Westhampton Beach High School senior entering a four-year college or university with the goal of obtaining a baccalaureate degree in nursing. The scholarship will offer the student assistance with the cost of tuition, books and supplies. Application

 

East Quogue Fire Department Memorial Scholarship: $750 given to two seniors who are residents of the East Quogue school district for a minimum of their junior and senior years, and who have plans on file to continue their education at any institution of higher learning, including trade school. Edward & Rosemary Dodd Terchunian Scholarship: Two $500 awards (one male, one female) given to a wrestler or track athlete who demonstrates solid academic achievement. This award is intended to reward a deserving student who is dedicated and hard working. Sportsmanship, character, and high moral standards will be considered as vital traits of this individual. Father Joseph Slomski Knights of Columbus Council #7423 Scholarship: Two $1500 scholarships awarded after competitive screening to two seniors who plan to continue their education at a four-year college and are active in the community, church, and school activities. Flying Point Foundation for Autism Scholarship: $1000 awarded to a graduating senior from an Eastern Long Island high school who has  demonstrated a commitment to the autism community through volunteerism or other avenue that has had an impact on those diagnosed with the disorder. Application

 

Friends of the Westhampton Free Library Award: $500 awarded to a graduating senior who resides in one of the communities served by the Westhampton Free Library. These communities include: Westhampton Beach, Westhampton, East Moriches, Eastport, East Quogue, Manorville, Quiogue, Remsenburg and Speonk. Recipient must be enrolled in an accredited two or four year college/university beginning in September following graduation from high school. Application

 

Friends of Westhampton Ambulance - Scholarship A: $1500 awarded to a graduating Westhampton Beach High School senior that plans to pursue an emergency medicine or hospital related career. A 250-500 word essay answering the following questions – When and why did you decide to go into a hospital related field of study? Did a specific event or person in your life influence your decision to pursue this career? - Scholarship B: $1000 awarded to a graduating high school senior that is the child or grandchild of a Westhampton War Memorial Ambulance member, such member must have been an active member for at least ten (10) years. This scholarship will be $1,000 per year for a maximum of four (4) years and will be given upon the applicant supplying a written request along with proof of acceptance to an accredited college or university for each of the four years. Application

 

Friends of Westhampton Ambulance - Junior Member Scholarship: $500 award given to a graduating high school senior who is a Junior Ambulance member. (no application necessary- recipients selected from entire senior class)

 

"Grace Will Always Win" Scholarship: $1,000+ awarded to a senior student in Grace Guerra’s graduating class at Westhampton Beach High School who has consistently demonstrated both grit and grace in or out of the classroom. The recipient of this scholarship has weathered the storm and is a prime example of what it means to master resilience. They are a role model of tenacity, perseverance and sophistication. They have successfully navigated challenges and have come out on top. We are honored to award the first annual "Grace WIll Always Win Scholarship" to Grace’s classmate _______. (No application necessary- recipients selected by the Westhampton Beach Girls Lacrosse coaches)

 

Gordon Werner Memorial Scholarship: $1000 awarded to two graduating seniors planning to pursue further studies in mathematics or who is committed to attending a vocational school or two year college. Student must demonstrate evidence of activities in community service that impacted children’s lives (No application necessary, winner chosen from the entire class).

 

The Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce Mary O. Fritchie & Lise Frielinghaus Memorial Fine Art Scholarships: up to $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to two graduating seniors of the Westhampton Beach Senior High School who has shown outstanding ability and excels in Fine Art. Candidates must have on file intentions to enroll in a two or four-year higher education program or other accredited vocational arts program with the intent to major in art, art education, art history, architecture or some related creative design discipline. Fine Art includes, but is not limited to: Painting, Drawing, Photography, Sculpting, Pottery, Computer Aided Design, Graphic Design, Architecture & Fine Industrial Arts. Applicants should include a short essay describing his/her experiences in related fine art courses, and/or their work experience, passion for their hobby, fine art experience and/or their future goals. Applicants should accompany their scholarship application with 8 1/2”x 11" photographs / print-outs of two of their best fine art selections for review. The Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) Scholarship: Up to $2,500 scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who has excelled in the high school's STEM or STEM related classes and has maintained at least B average throughout their senior year. Candidate must be continuing their education in pursuit of a STEM or related profession in college. Applicants should include a short essay describing his/her experiences in STEM, and/or their work experience and/or their future goals. Please send essay & resume to: info@whbcc.org

 

The Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce Business Scholarship: up to $2,500 scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who has excelled in the high school's business program or business related classes and has maintained a B average throughout their senior year. Hampton Theatre Company Peter Marbury Scholarship: $1500 scholarship to a graduating senior who has shown outstanding ability in the theater arts, whether in high school or at the community level, and who plans to further his or her theater education after graduation. Application

 

Hampton West Estates Residents’ Association Scholarship: $500 scholarship given to a Hampton West Estates senior continuing their education beyond high school. This award is in memory of Mr. Rocco Oliveto, a long time Hampton West resident. Mr. Oliveto was very involved in community service and was a long time member of the 106th Air National Guard at Gabreski Airport. The Hampton West community has long ties to the 106th as a number of its members have lived at Hampton West over the years. As the 106th does act in the benefit of the public, the applicant needs to submit a brief essay highlighting the importance of public service in society. Hurricane Educational Foundation Scholarship: $1,000 awarded to a graduating senior who is planning to attend a four-year college. Community/school service advocate. Maximizes potential academically. Personality/character – exhibits good morals, sensitivity and compassion. Application

 

Hurricane Robotics Booster Club Award: a scholarship awarded to a current and active member of the WHB Robotics Team 3171. The recipient will have shown gracious professionalism, participation, leadership, determination and perseverance. Jennifer Tufo Feuerman Memorial Scholarship: An award up to a maximum of $5000 payable to a graduating Westhampton Beach High School senior who best exemplifies hard work, drive, commitment, perseverance, integrity and contributions to their community, while overcoming significant challenges and adversity. Essay required. Application

 

Lillian Cara Everhart Memorial Scholarship: up to $1000 to a graduating senior planning to attend college in the fall, majoring in a “helping” field. Application

 

Millard & Rowena Jayne Memorial Scholarship: Two $500 scholarships awarded to two graduating seniors planning to pursue a postsecondary school. The students should display school and community spirit and an appreciation for the marine (beach) environment. WHBHS common scholarship application.

 

Patel Family Achievement Award: Two $500 scholarships awarded to two graduating seniors planning to pursue a postsecondary degree. This award is to recognize a student who has made a unique contribution to his or her school or community. Award will be issued upon proof of enrollment of the fall semester their freshman year in college. Submit an essay of 200 words or less describing your contribution in detail and how it has shaped your future goals and plans. Email resume and essay directly to: rajoo53@gmail.com

 

Quogue Fire Department: up to $1,500 award to a graduating senior that has a parent or grandparent that is an active member of the QFD. Special application - Please pickup application at Fire House.

 

Remsenburg-Speonk TA/PTO Award: $1000 awarded to a college-bound graduate of Remsenburg-Speonk Elementary School who is among the highest academic GPA in their graduating class. (no application necessary- recipients selected from entire senior class)

 

Richard Speed Hurricane Spirit Award: $1000 awarded to a senior who is involved with sports and music given in memory of a fellow WHBHS alumnus from the class of 1963. Mr. Speed was one of the biggest Hurricane fans imaginable. A devoted member of the WHB community, volunteer fireman for 45+ years, and Vietnam veteran. Applicants must exemplify sportsmanship, citizenship, and be a team player. Involvement in music and sports will be emphasized. Also, the recipient must attend a 2 or 4 year institution after high school. WHBHS common scholarship application.

 

Rooted Hospitality Group Scholarship: Do you love food or hospitality?! If so, you're in great company. It's fantastic that you're already considering what to study after high school - and it's even better when it's a career in food or hospitality! FLORA (located on Main Street in Westhampton Beach, and part of Rooted Hospitality Group) is a proud supporter of all those students in the passionate pursuit of making food and hospitality part of their life-long career path! Samantha Jo LeBrun Moon and Stars Memorial Award: Two $4,000 ($1,000 annually) awards to a male or female Westhampton Beach High School Senior who stretches to the moon and stars by virtue of their love for others, kindness, strength, generosity, and effort to right wrongs, shelter, comfort, and support the forgotten, the lonely, the lost and everyone whose life he/she touches. The recipient may follow a path to work with children or use sign language in their future.  One scholarship will be an Academic Scholarship and one will be a Trade School Scholarship.  For more info go to www.sjlmoonstars.com.

Suffolk Association of Business Officials Scholarship: $500 award to a graduating senior who is interested in pursuing a career in business. This individual should be someone who is community minded and has availed themselves of business coursework in high school. WHBHS common scholarship application.

 

SYS Annette Benedict Scholarship: $500 award to a graduating senior pursuing a college education who demonstrates love of family and community; showing kindness with energy and happiness, and an appreciation of arts and athletics. Application

 

Tymann Family Anchorship: $500 award will be granted to a graduating senior who has performed extensive community service over the past twelve months to be used toward college, trade school, or to start your own business. Applications can be made in any unique format, such as essay, video, other creative writing or form of art, personal interview, etc. detailing how you have shown that you’re “Anchored” in your community. VFW Post 5350 Scholarship Award: Up to $500 awarded to graduating seniors who have plans on file to attend college. Community service is a must. The recipients may have a father or grandfather who is involved in the VFW. Those who intend to make the armed forces a career will be given some priority. WHBHS common scholarship application.


Westhampton Beach Business Advisory Club Scholarship: Up to $500 Scholarship available to a senior who meets the following criteria: must be a business minded student, be in good academic standing, pursuing a college education, business or technical school, must have taken at least one business class and must have been employed in at least one job or internship (after school or summer). Application

 

Westhampton Garden Club Scholarship: Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to a local high school graduating senior who has demonstrated an interest throughout the high school years in environmental science, conservation and/or any of the botanical fields, including agriculture, horticulture and landscape design, by active participation in, for example, clubs, classes, paid or volunteer work. Application

 

WHB Fire Department Scholarship - $1500 award to a graduating senior that plans to attend college that has a parent or grandparent that is an active member of the WHBFD. Please contact Ms. Gordon if you are eligible gordonk@whbschools.org.

 

Westhampton Beach Middle School PTO Scholarship: Two (2) $1000 scholarships to two (2) graduating seniors who have graduated from and attended WHBMS for a minimum of two years; have a strong commitment to family, community and school. Application

 

Westhampton Beach Fire Department – Charles Scoog Scholarship: $1,500 award to a graduating senior that is a child of a member of the WHBFD. Special application - Please pickup application at Fire House and send directly to: WHB Fire Department, Sunset Avenue, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978.

 

Westhampton Beach PTO Scholarship: Four $500 awards to be used toward post secondary training expenses, to the graduating student(s) who has made a significant contribution to the WHB community and has exhibited a spirit of volunteerism. Application

 

Westhampton Beach Teachers’ Association Significant Improvement Award: Up to $500 for a senior who has demonstrated significant growth and/or improvement during his/her senior year of high school. (no application necessary- recipients selected from entire senior class).

 

Westhampton Beach Teachers’ Association Award: Up to $750 a year for four years for the class valedictorian. (no application necessary)

 

WHB Theatre Booster Club Awards: Monetary scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who have participated in at least ½ of the shows during their tenure at WHB (these shows include the Fall Play and Spring Musical) in any of the following capacities:  cast, crew, and pit.  To apply for the scholarship, please submit a list of all shows in which you have participated and in what capacity.  Include a 400 to 500 word essay explaining how being involved in theater at WHB High School has shaped your high school experience and how you expect it to influence you in the future.  Applicants must also demonstrate excellent character by showing commitment and respect for themselves and all others involved in the shows at all times, as well as a collaborative spirit.  All scholarship applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the officers of the WHB Theatre Booster Club.  Email application to: whbdrama@gmail.com. Application

 

Westhampton Community Church Tia-Beth Elliott Memorial Scholarship: Two $500 scholarships awarded to graduating seniors with plans to attend a 2yr/4yr college or a vocational school.  Each candidate should encompass the characteristics of compassion and consideration.  A person who makes their social environment a better place.  WHBHS common scholarship application.  

 

Westhampton Country Club Scholarship: $2000 awarded to a senior who plans to attend a two or four year school of higher education. It will be presented to a student who has demonstrated a unique interest in and dedication to the WHB community. Application

 

Westhampton Woman’s Club Award:  A $2000. scholarship is awarded to a female member of the current WHBHS graduating class, who is academically proficient and plans to attend an accredited two/four year college or technical course of study,  based  on Long Island. The applicant should demonstrate a record of school and community involvement.
