Westhampton Beach High School runners Lily Strebel and Trevor Hayes were recognized by Newsday. Strebel, a junior, was named to Newsday’s Top 25 Girls Track and Field list for running the 1,000-meter in 2:53.65 to place fifth and the 1,500-meter in 4:38.86 to place sixth at last winter’s state indoor championships. Hayes was named to the Top 25 Boys Track and Field list for running the 1,600-meter in 4:26.66 and placing 20th at last winter’s state indoor championships.
