Westhampton Beach High School AP French students in Nicolette Galante’s class recently had the opportunity to virtually meet with Dr. Souad Fennouh-Chalhoub, a member of the United Nations’ Outreach Division in the Department of Global Communications. Prior to the meeting, the students learned about the qualifications needed to work at the U.N. and prepared questions regarding how the U.N. addresses global issues such as hunger, health, access to safe drinking water, issues of peace and security, decolonization, gender equality and safety of children. During the briefing, the students communicated entirely in French with Dr. Fennouh-Chalhoub, who answered as many questions as time allowed.
