Thirty Westhampton Beach High School science research students spent their winter break learning more about marine ecology as part of a Rustic Pathways trip to Bayahibe and Sabana de la Mar in the Dominican Republic. They worked on helping the Dominican Foundation of Marine Studies, an NGO, to build structures for seeding coral nurseries and planted red mangrove trees to prevent erosion and flooding. Students also enjoyed ziplining, snorkeling and swimming in a cenote.
