Westhampton Beach Middle School eighth grade students recently attended a powerful and thought-provoking assembly, “From the Fires: Voices of the Holocaust,” presented by the Theatre Three Touring Company. The performance shared survivor voices and historical perspectives that brought history to life and reinforced key themes that the students have been exploring in their English language arts and history classes. The assembly was closely connected to the students’ reading and analysis of Elie Wiesel’s Holocaust memoir, “Night,” and the students will soon begin their study of World War II.
