In honor of Black History Month, Westhampton Beach Elementary School students are learning about influential African Americans through a variety of activities sponsored by the school’s Equity Committee. One of these activities is an interactive “Honoring Key Elements of Black History” periodic table that is displayed in the school’s main hallway. The table includes QR codes that students can scan to gain more information through articles and videos. Additionally, student council members have been highlighting influential African Americans during morning announcements.
